Chicken Adobo sa Gata is just another original Filipino rendition of this classic Philippine dish, the Adobo. Coconut milk melds magically with vinegar, tempering the acid base of adobo and adding a creamy richness.
- ½ kg chicken, cut up
- 1 pack DEL MONTE Quick n Easy Gata Mix, dissolved in 1 cup water
- 4 cloves garlic, crushed
- 5 pc peppercorns, crushed
- 1 pc medium onion, sliced
- 1 pc laurel
- 2 tbsp ginger strips
- 2 tbsp DEL MONTE Red Cane Vinegar
- 2 tsp soy sauce
1. Combine chicken and soy sauce. Set aside.
2. Sauté garlic, onion and ginger for 5 minutes. Add laurel, DEL MONTE Red Cane Vinegar and peppercorn. Simmer uncovered for 5 minutes, and then covered for 10 minutes.
3. Add DEL MONTE Gata Mix. Simmer for another 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
